1. Post Name: Principal Officer (Engineering) cum Joint Director General (Technical) 2. No of Post: 01 3. Pay Scale: : Level- 14 in the Pay Matrix as per 7th CPC, General Central Services Group-“A” Gazetted 4. Qualification: (i) Certificate of competency of Marine Engineer Officer Class-I(Steam or Motor or Combined Steam and Motor) as specified in Section 78 of the Merchant Shipping act,1958(44 of 1958) or equivalent as specified in section 86 of the said Act and five year’s Service at sea of which one year service as Chief Engineer or Second Engineer.(ii) Certificate of competency of extra first class Engineer as Specified in Section 78 of the Merchant Shipping act,1958(44 of 1958) or equivalent as specified in section 86 of the said Act and Ten years’ of experience in survey and inspection of foreign going merchant ships and equipments on board such Ships. (iii) OR Post Graduate Diploma in Maritime Operation and Management awarded by the Indian Institute of Technology or equivalent and twelve years of experience in survey and inspection of foreign going merchant ships and equipments on board such ships OR (iv) M.Sc degree in Maritime Affairs covering all aspects of ‘Administration of Maritime Safety and Environment Protection from the World Maritime University, Malmo, Sweden or equivalent’ and twelve years experience in survey and inspection of foreign going merchant ships and equipment on board such ships. Age: 50 years
